Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9-11 April 2018, a delegation of the Association Uztekstilprom visited Kahramanmaraş and Istanbul (Turkey), the press service of the association said.
Within the framework of the visit, issues of expansion of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey in the textile industry were discussed.
Members of the Uzbek delegation visited production sites of the leading textile enterprises Temsan, Kipas Holding, Balsuyu Mensucat, Nartex tekstil and got acquainted with production enterprises of the city of Kahramanmaraş, which is the textile center of Turkey.
In addition, negotiations were held with a number of Turkish textile companies, during which the representatives of the Uzbek delegation informed the audience about the socio-economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ongoing reforms in the country, as well as guarantees, benefits and preferences for foreign investment and the government’s measures to improve the investment climate, including in the textile industry.
As a result of the visit, Uztekstilprom Association and Turkish companies reached preliminary agreements on signing more than 5 Memorandums for about US$90 million.
In particular, Uztekstilprom and Demez Oglu (the manufacturer and supplier of such famous brands as Moschino, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Aeronautica) discussed launch of wholesale (semi-wholesale) trade center “TEXTILKENT”.
The project concept envisages construction of a mini-town with modern warehouse, office and demonstration facilities to attract foreign (Turkish) trading companies (brand owners, large retail chains), as well as Uzbek textile manufacturers. The center will also serve the domestic market as an industry platform for cooperative ties, but mainly for export deliveries. The city will provide certification, logistics and financial support services, as well as experimental workshops for tailoring collections.
Also, negotiations were held with the Chairman of the Association of Manufacturers of Ready-Made Garments of Turkey.
As a result, agreements were reached to strengthen bilateral cooperation by creating a working group of representatives of the Association "Uztekstilprom" and the Association of Manufacturers of Ready-Made Garments of Turkey for organizing seminars, business forums, exchanging information, promoting trade, economic and investment issues.
In continuation of the planned meetings of the Uzbek delegation, negotiations were held with representatives of the Turkish company Temsan (the world’s leading manufacturer of air conditioning and ventilation systems for textile facilities). The sides reached agreement to accelerate implementation of the project for the organization of production / assembly of modern air conditioning and ventilation systems in Uzbekistan and organization of the visit of the Turkish companies top managers to Uzbekistan in April 2018.
Also, within the visit of the delegation of the Association "Uztekstilprom" to Turkey, a meeting was held with the General Director of the company Gulmek Tekstil Konfeksiyon. Turkish company owns own brands of children’s clothing in the range from 1 year to 14 years Mago and Bo & Bo Lizzy Brands, Dominik. "
Following the results of the negotiations, the parties agreed on opening of the office of Turkish company in Uzbekistan within 3 months, as well as the establishment of children’s clothing production under their own brands, including on a give-and-take basis, for deliveries to the regional market in particular to Afghanistan.
