Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyev will participate in the opening of the Kandym gas processing complex in Bukhara region, the press secretary of the head of state Komil Allamjonov said on his Facebook page.
According to him, on 19 April, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyev will pay a visit to Bukhara and Navoi regions.
The head of state will take part in the opening ceremony of the Kandym gas processing complex built jointly by the national holding company Uzbekneftegaz and the Russian company Lukoil.
JSC Navoiazot creates three plants for the manufacture of internationally competitive chemical products. During his visit to Navoi, the President will get acquainted with the progress of the construction of these plants.
LUKOIL has been implementing the Kandym project since 2004 jointly with the Uzbekneftegaz under the Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad PSA. The Kandym group includes six gas condensate fields - Kandym, Kuvachi-Alat, Akkum, Parsankul, Khodzhi and Western Khodzhi.
In February 2015, LUKOIL and a consortium of contractors led by Hyundai Engineering from South Korea signed a contract for supply of equipment and construction of the Kandym Gas Processing Plant worth US$2.66 billion.
In April 2016, LUKOIL started construction of Kandym Gas Processing Plant, which will process 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas a year. It is expected that the first phase of the project will commission in 2018. The first phase is valued at US$3.3 billion.
In November 2007, the company commissioned the Khauzak-Shady field with a production capacity of 3.4 billion cubic meters of gas a year, in May 2015 – the Kuvachi-Alat and Severnoye Shady field with a production capacity of 2.1 billion cubic meters of gas a year, in July 2017 - the field of Gissar Group with a production capacity of 5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
