A special investigative complex opened at Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A special complex for questioning, equipped with the systems of shorthand, video surveillance, as well as audio and video recording of investigative actions, was opened at the Investigation Department at Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate (GUVD).
According to the GUVD, the complex also includes playrooms for children with toys and literature.
The video surveillance system allows to monitor process of interrogations in the rooms.
The project is aimed at providing a reliable guarantee for protection of the rights of persons brought to criminal prosecution on suspicion of committing grave and especially serious crimes, including against minors.
Special rooms prevent the use of illegal methods of obtaining evidence, such as torture, psychological or physical pressure and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment against participants in criminal proceedings by the law enforcement.
