Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan determined a site in Tashkent, where the International High-Tech Innovation Center “High-Tech City” will be built.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan issued a resolution, according to which the center will be built between the streets of Amir Temur, Small Ring, Sandikkurgon and Iftikhor.
The Center is established to create favorable conditions for introduction of advanced information and communication technologies.
High-Tech City will be located next to the Tashkent University of Information Technology and will include the International Business Center with the International Hotel and Uzexpocentre, the document said.
The Government has established a Directorate for operation and construction of new facilities on the territory of the center, which is organized under the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications.
The Directorate will select potential investors, negotiate with them and conclude investment agreements, as well as monitor the implementation of projects.
The government ordered to carry out inventory of homes and non-residential buildings to be demolished on the territory of the future center, with a list of families actually living here. As compensation, the families will receive new land.
The cost of the project, implemented jointly with the South Korean POSCO Daewoo, is estimated at US$1.4 billion.
The State Committee of Uzbekistan for Investments and POSCO Daewoo signed an agreement on construction of the center in November 2017 in the framework of the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea.
