President sets new norms for duty-free goods import for individuals

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on 6 February 2018, which established new norms for duty-free import of goods into the country by individuals.
According to the document, customs duties are not imposed on goods imported by individuals for up to US$2,000 when crossing the customs border through international airports in Uzbekistan and US$1,000 when crossing the customs border through railway and river border crossing points.
When crossing the customs border through road (pedestrian) checkpoints of the state border, customs duties are not imposed on goods for up to US$300 imported by natural persons.
At the same time, individuals can import goods for up to US$1,000 a month via international postal and courier shipments.
The document said that individuals can export goods from Uzbekistan for the sum of up to US$3,000.
The decree approved limits on duty-free import of certain types of goods by individuals. In particular, individuals can import up to 2 liters of alcoholic beverages, including beer, 10 packs of all kinds of tobacco products, 3 units of perfume and toilet water, and 65 grams of jewelry from precious metals and precious stones.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev set limit for export of some category of goods by individuals. In particular, now individuals will be able to export up to 3 kg of rice, up to 5 kg of bakery products, up to 2 kg of meat and edible meat offal, up to 2 kg of sugar, up to 2 kg of vegetable oils and up to 40 kg of fresh fruits, grapes, melons, beans, dried vegetables and fruits.
