Islamic Academy’s Council holds its first session

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first meeting of the Academic Council of the Islamic Academy was held at the National University of Uzbekistan on 25 January.
Academicians, scientists, professors, doctors of sciences, members of scientific councils and representatives of the clergy took part in it.
Speaking at the meeting, the Rector of the Islamic Academy, N.Ibrahimov, noted that the decree of the head of state "On measures to create the Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan" was a significant event in the life of scientists, especially religious scholars, engaged in research in this field. According to the rector, the Academy began its activities after receiving state registration certificate on 15 January. He also provided detailed information on goals and objectives of the Academy. In particular, he stressed that the Academy will have a magistracy (two years), a basic doctorate (three years) and a doctorate (three years).
Mufti Usmankhan Alimov congratulated the Islamic Academy on its opening and wished success to the organizations.
In addition, various issues related to the competence of the Academic Council of the Islamic Academy were discussed.
Muslim Board of Uzbekistan is the founder of the Islamic Academy. The Academy was established in order to provide the highest and secondary special religious educational institutions of the country with highly qualified scientific and pedagogical staff.
