Uzbekistan takes measures to improve emergency medical care system

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 January, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On measures for accelerated improvement of emergency medical care system”, the State Adviser to the President Rustam Kasimov said during a briefing in Tashkent.
It was noted that Uzbekistan bought about 1,270 units of specialized ambulance vehicles in 2017. This allowed to completely cover the needs of the regions.
Uzbekistan also increased twice provision of ambulance teams with medicines.
The Uzbek leader established that urgent and emergency medical assistance for population is provided free of charge in all medical institutions, regardless of their form of ownership.
Also, the President forbade the medical organizations to refuse to provide emergency and urgent medical care to people in a life-threatening or health-threatening condition.
The document underlined that Uzbekistan will introduce administrative responsibility for refusing to provide assistance.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a program of measures for the accelerated improvement of the emergency medical care system in 2018.
The program envisages strengthening of the material and technical base of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care (RSCEMP), as well as its regional branches and departments in district and city medical institutions.
According to the decree, dispatching services will be established on the basis of the ambulance stations of Tashkent and the regional branches of RSCEMP. The population will be able to contact the dispatch service via number 103. The service will work 24-hours a day.
Call centers will start operating in Tashkent and regional centers in 2018 and in all regions and settlements of the country in 2019.
The document added that all ambulances will be equipped with GPS-navigators. At the same time, the brigade will receive walkie-talkies. This should reduce the arrival time of the ambulance on call.
Dispatchers, using GPS, will know the location of the machines and send calls to those brigade, located near the patient.
