Uzbekistan plans to launch single goods marking system

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to introduce single system of marking some types of goods with identification signs.
A draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On introduction of system on marking separate types of goods with control (identification) signs” was published at the portal for discussion of legal acts.
The system will be introduced to ensure quality and security of produced food products, protection of internal market from counterfeited products, etc.
The document said that introduction of the system will ensure single system of accounting goods and track all way of good from production to the market.
The document proposes to mark such goods as milk, cream, yogurt, coffee, tea, ready and tined products from meat, fish and sea products, processed vegetables, fruits, nuts and other plant products.
It is also planned to mark olive, sunflower, soya, corn and peanut oil, ice-cream, alcohol and non-alcohol drinks, vinegar, pharmaceutical products and cigarettes.
The list of goods, which should be marked, will be expanded due to introduction of new products.
The draft document said that consumer goods, which should be marked and produced and imported into Uzbekistan till 1 October 2018, can be realized in Uzbekistan till 1 April 2019.
It added that realization of consumer goods, included to the list of goods, which should be marked, will be conducted within 180 days from the day of their inclusion to the list.
Producers and importers of the goods are responsible for marking of goods. State Tax Committee and State Customs Committee will control the process.
The Commission on introduction of the system of marking of goods with control (identification) signs will be approved samples of the signs.
