Uzbekistan and Iran discuss expansion of trade and economic ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Iran discussed prospects for trade and economic cooperation and expansion of cooperation in the field of transport and transit freight traffic.
A delegation of Iran headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mojtaba Khosrowtaj visited the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation, strengthening of the regulatory and legal framework in this area, as well as further interaction in the field of transport and transit freight traffic, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Trade said.
Representatives of the two countries agreed to work out the issue of organizing the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Transport-Communication Cooperation. It is expected that the meeting of the commission will be held in Tehran in the first half of 2018.
