Uzbekistan adopt measures to develop specialized neurosurgical care

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On measures to further develop specialized neurosurgical assistance to population of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021” on 24 October 2017.
According to the document, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Neurosurgery will be a leading medical organization for providing neurosurgical assistance to the population of Uzbekistan.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved a set of measures for further development of specialized neurosurgical assistance to the population of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021.
Resources for 7.88 billion soums and US$43.08 million will be allocated to implementation of measures, approved by the resolution.
The program will be financed due to the state budget (0.69 billion soums and US$0.08 million), state trust funds (7.19 billion soums and US$15 million), as well as international organizations, financial institutions and grants ($ 28 million ).
Within the framework of the program, it is planned to take measures to improve the regulatory and legal framework of the neurosurgical service, as well as material and technical base of state medical organizations of the neurosurgical service.
Measures will also be taken to strengthen human resources and expand cooperation with the leading international medical centers. It is planned to implement measures to improve the quality of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurosurgical diseases.
