President of Uzbekistan meets with representatives of US business circles

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with representatives of the leading American companies in New York (the United States) on 19 September 2017.
Uzbek leader held talks with the chairman of the American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, President of General Electric Ron Pollett, President and Executive Director of Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies Rajeev Gautam, Vice President of CNH Industrial Steven Nadherny and President of John Deere James Field.
During the meeting Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the trade and economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States of America is consistently developing, the American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce become an important mechanism for supporting and implementing joint projects.
During the meeting, the sides discussed reforms implemented in Uzbekistan and issues of expanding cooperation with US companies.
In particular, the parties considered participation of US companies in implementation of projects in Uzbekistan in such areas as agriculture, oil and gas, energy, etc. The parties also discussed organization of issue of special equipment of American companies in Uzbekistan.
Issues of construction of hydroelectric power stations, organization of production of modern medical equipment and lighting devices in Uzbekistan were also discussed.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the forthcoming Uzbek-American Business Forum on 20 September will be a great event and will further strengthen the ties between the business circles of the two countries, discuss promising joint projects and achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
Representatives of the American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce confirmed their readiness to actively participate in implementation of joint programs and projects with Uzbekistan.
