Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Republican and permanent territorial commissions for monitoring and controlling prices for basic socially significant food products are instructed to take effective measures to ensure price stability in Uzbekistan.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On priority measures for liberalization of monetary policy” on 2 September 2017.
According to the decree, the commissions, together with the law enforcement bodies, should strengthen measures to prevent and suppress unreasonable growth of prices and tariffs for socially significant goods and services, creating a deficit and rush demand for them.
They also must take measures to combat corruption and abuse in the process of selling goods, services and works.
The commissions are instructed to ensure systematic study and monitoring of compliance with the established procedure for formation of retail prices for basic socially important goods, including medicines and medical products on a daily basis.
They should also promptly saturate Uzbekistan’s regional markets with foodstuffs at the expense of the Stabilization Fund for domestic consumer market and by creating conditions for food producers, including farmers and dekhkan farms, including allocating special areas for selling their own production without intermediaries directly to the population.
The measures will also be taken to ensure the stability of domestic prices for imported consumer goods.
