Police detain 17 illegal Uzbek migrants in Kazakh south

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Border guards have detained 17 Uzbek citizens in South Kazakhstan Region (SKR), Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency reported.
The group of illegal migrants was detained in Maktaaral District last Sunday, 9 November, the press service of the Ontustik regional directorate of the Kazakh National Security Committee’s Border Service told the Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency.
"They were returning to Uzbekistan from a trip in Kazakhstan, where they had earned money, but did not have any identification documents on them and attempted to bypass border checkpoints," the press service said.
The press service said that the Uzbek citizens would be handed over to the migration service of the SKR for further investigation.
