Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Customs bodies of Uzbekistan and Russia have successfully completed testing and information exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles, moving between countries, in order to implement the project “Simplified Customs Corridor”.
The project to create the "green corridor" is implemented within the framework of an agreement between the Federal Customs Service of Russia and the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan on organization of a simplified procedure for implementation of customs operations when goods and vehicles moved between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The document was signed on 30 December 2016.
The subdivisions of the customs services of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation implemented necessary measures to finalize and customize the regular software tools and to establish stable information interaction on an ongoing basis.
The project allows the companies of the two countries, under certain conditions, to obtain simplifications in the performance of customs operations with respect to certain categories of goods transported between countries.
Currently, the project is extended to agricultural products, but the list of products can be expanded based on the results of the project.
The customs services of Russia and Uzbekistan are focusing on improving the project by expanding the number of its participants and the list of goods being moved.
