Uzbekistan to create commission to improve its position in Doing Business

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan plans to take measures to improve the country’s rating in the World Bank’s Doing Business annual report.
A draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On additional measures to further improve the rating of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the World Bank’s annual “Doing Business” report” was published for discussion.
According to the document, the Government intends to form an Interdepartmental Commission for Coordination of work on further raising the rating of Uzbekistan in the World Bank’s annual Doing Business Report.
The Commission will ensure interaction of government agencies in matters related to implementation of measures to improve the conditions for doing business and analyze activities to improve the business environment.
The commission will make proposals for taking responsibility measures against the heads of state bodies, who do not fulfill their duties on improving business environment.
The draft resolution said that implementation of the planned activities will improve the position of Uzbekistan in the Doing Business report for 10 positions each year. It is expected that Uzbekistan will move from 77th place in 2016 to 40th place in 2021 in Doing Business report.
