Toytepa to become first “smart city” in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 July, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the general plan of Toytepa, which recently became the administrative center of Tashkent region.
Toytepa will become the first “smart city” in Uzbekistan. The project is implemented jointly with specialists from South Korea.
Adviser to the Chairman of the State Committee for Architecture and Construction of Uzbekistan Alex Kim Taihun noted that the concept of “smart city” was developed taking into account introduction of new technologies, eco-city systems and traditions of Uzbekistan.
According to him, innovations are introduced into the concept, which must exist in every built new city.
Within the framework of the project, it is planned to build administrative buildings, housing, business centers, hotels, sports complexes, youth creativity center, library, school, hospital. Parks, gardens, squares, alleys for hiking and cycling will also be created in the city.
It is planned to create artificial channel in Toytepa. Tashkent and Toytepa will be connected with the high-speed road.
