Uzbek Foreign Ministry hosts talks with delegation of Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 July 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a meeting with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The delegation includes Muhammad Hanif Atmar, President’s Adviser on National Security Issues, Muhammad Humayun Kayumi, Senior Adviser to the President on Infrastructure, Human Resources and Technology, Muhammad Shokir Korgan, the President’s Special Representative for Development of Cooperation with CIS Countries and Russia and other officials.
At the Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on bilateral agenda, as well as exchanged views on international and regional issues. Special attention was paid to implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting on 8 June of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the President of Afghanistan Muhammad Ashraf Ghani within the framework of the SCO summit in Astana.
Ambassador of Afghanistan Syed Shahabuddin Timuri took part in the conversation at the Foreign Ministry.
Within the program of the visit, the Afghan delegation will hold bilateral meetings in a number of ministries, departments and leading enterprises of Uzbekistan to consider concrete proposals for expanding cooperation.
