Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Ikhtiyor Abdullayev visited the Republic of Belarus on 9 -11 July at the invitation of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Konyuk.
During the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan held meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Rusyi, in the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Supreme Court, Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.
The delegation of Uzbekistan informed the colleagues from Belarus about the changes in the judicial and legal sphere, implementation of the Strategy of Action on five priority directions of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021, programs for reforming the judicial system and other decisions.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of agreements on the results of visits by government delegations of the two countries at the end of the past and the beginning of this year.
Ikhtiyor Abdullayev and Alexander Konyuk exchanged views on the further implementation of the inter-agency agreement on cooperation, signed in May in Tashkent.
They also discussed the possibility of organizing joint events on specific areas of prosecutorial activity, conducting research on prevention of crime and combating crime.
Chairman of the Supreme Court Valentin Sukalo positively assessing the measures for reforming the judicial system, ensuring the independence of the courts, increasing access to justice, emphasized the commonality of these trends for Belarus. In particular, he noted the experience of unification of economic courts in Belarus with system of courts of general jurisdiction, transfer of logistical functions to the Supreme Court, which allowed formation of unity of judicial practice, and creation of appropriate conditions for administration of justice.
Prospects for cooperation on sharing experience in investigation of crimes are outlined at the meeting with the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Ivan Noskevich. Participants discussed use of information and communication and other modern technologies in crime detection, use of biometric data and DNA analysis. The experience of creating a single forensic expert institution in Belarus, which unites all experts, was positively noted.
At the Ministry of Justice, the parties discussed implementation of court decisions, activities of the Bureau of Forced Execution created under the Prosecutor General’s Office, implementation of measures to enhance the prestige of judicial executors, control over gas and electricity, and introduction of an automated billing system.
