Uzbekistan creates commission to introduce energy and gas accounting systems

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan created a working commission to prepare proposals for introduction of automated systems for monitoring and accounting for electricity and natural gas in the country.
On 27 June, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed an order on establishing the working commission. Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov led the commission.
The commission will study foreign experience and develop proposals for approval of unified regulatory and technical requirements, state standards for automated systems and accounting devices, integrated into a single system.
Based on the results of the study, it is planned to develop a concept for implementation of automated systems in Uzbekistan.
The leadership of Uzbekistan plans to implement projects to localize the production of modern electronic meters for electricity and gas, related equipment and software products with the participation of foreign partners.
It is also planned to attract local producers and financial resources to implement projects on introduction of automated systems.
The commission will hold negotiations with international and foreign financial institutions-donors to raise their funds for implementation of projects on introduction of automated systems.
The commission will hold talks with foreign companies with progressive experience in implementing automated systems. Specialists of Uzbekistan will visit foreign countries to study best practices in implementation of such systems, legislation and law enforcement practice, the order said.
In order to implement the tasks, Uzbek leader entrusted to submit concrete proposals and draft legal documents to the President’s Office within two months.
