Uzbekistan to supply products for US$1bn to India – Ganiev

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and India reached an agreement on supply of Uzbek products to India, the Minister of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev said.
On 9 June, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Astana (Kazakhstan).
Commenting on the results of this meeting, Ganiev noted that the parties reached the agreement on supply of mineral fertilizers, natural uranium, legumes, fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products, products from copper, rare and non-ferrous metals, electrical, cable, cotton products for over US$1 billion to India.
President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of India noted that the countries have great potential in developing cooperation in the investment sphere, medicine and pharmaceuticals.
He noted that Uzbekistan and India intend to cooperate in production of medicines and improve medical services. The parties are also planning to create capacities for processing of silk and production of other finished products with high added value.
Uzbekistan and India intend to cooperate in the field of information technologies, including in development of software.
