Tashkent and Shymkent administrations sign memorandum of cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Administrations of Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and Shymkent (Kyrgyzstan) signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document envisages opening of Tashkent trade house in Shymkent and developing trade-economic and cultural relations between the cities.
The document was inked within the first exhibition of Tashkent producers in Shymkent, which was held on 12-13 May.
Over 150 enterprises of the capital of Uzbekistan presented more than 1,000 products of various industries, including machine-building and electrotechnical, metallurgical and chemical, light and food, furniture and building materials industry, as well as a wide range of consumer goods.
According to the Hokimiyat of Tashkent, over 5,000 entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan visited this exhibition. As a result of the event, entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed contracts and protocols of intentions for the export of products of Tashkent enterprises for US$18 million.
Tashkent hokimiyat plans to hold similar exhibitions in Almaty (Kazakhstan), Osh (Kyrgyzstan) and Ashgabat (Turkmenistan).
