Uzbekistan, Turkey to increase mutual trade by 2-3 times

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Turkey are planning to increase mutual trade by 2-3 times in coming years, Deputy Minister of science, industry and technology of Turkey Hasan Celik said at the conference “Economic relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan” in Ankara.
Celik said that currently mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey stands at US$1.2 billion.
The conference participants were informed about ongoing in Uzbekistan reforms in the economic and social spheres, available favourable investment climate, as well as state and prospects of Uzbek-Turkish relations in the trade-economic sphere.
The main purpose of the event was the presentation of economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan, exchanging views on prospects of cooperation in this direction.
The event also presented investment projects in the tourism industry, including renovation of hotels, creation of recreation zones with the participation of leading companies.
