Uzbek Presidents visits Koshrabad district

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Koshrabad district within his visit to Samarkand region.
Uzbek leader familiarized himself with creation of nut and grape plantations, as well as husbandry farms. He also received information of the project on improving water supply to population of the district.
It was said that 4,211 farms will be created in 8 districts of Samarkand region and create 5,700 hectares of nut plantations and 13,000 hectare of vine-yards.
It is planned to direct 271 billion soums and US$8.4 million to these projects. This will create opportunity to additionally export 15,000 tonnes of nut and 50,000 tonnes of grape a year.
In 2017-2021, it is planned to create husbandry farms for 10,000 goats and 5,000 sheep. Some 7.7 billion soums will be directed to purchase 10,000 goats from Russia and 5,000 ships from Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Navoi and Tashkent regions.
OPEC Development Fund and Saudi Arabia allocated funds to realize the project on improving water supply in Koshrabad district with the cost of US$36.4 million. President received information on this project.
Uzbek leader proposed to plant fruit trees in Koshrabad to export them and develop husbandry in the district.
The projects on construction of wool processing plant and development of green houses were presented to the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
