Uzbekistan decreases excise duties to some imported goods

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan abolished excise duties for importing of some goods from 1 April 2017.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On further measures on ordering foreign economic activities of Uzbekistan” on 31 March 2017.
Uzbek leader excluded the position of “pasta” (code TN VED 1902), several polyethylene products (3901 10 900 0), chipboard (4410) and products of sheet steel (7208 27000 0, 7208 39 000 0) from list of excisable goods, imported into Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reduced the amount of excises for import of commercial vehicles (8704 31 910 with a total vehicle weight of not more than 5 tons) from 70% to 30% of the customs value.
The resolution also reduced excises on imports of a number of types of food products. For example, the rate for the import of wheat flour (1101) decreased from 11% to 5%.
The combined rate for imports of sunflower oil (1512 11) is now 10%, but not less than 0.16 dollars per liter (down from 20%, but not less than 0.32 dollars per liter), canned vegetable products (2005) -10% (down from 50%), vegetable and fruit juices -30%, but not less than 0.5% per liter (down from 70%, but not less than 1 dollar per liter), flavor additives (2103, except ketchup and mayonnaise) - 25% (down from 70%).
