Govn’t plans to restrict cargo transportation via Qamchiq pass

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan is planning to introduce a ban for cargo transportation via Qamchiq pass with some types of vehicles.
The draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On introduction of amendments to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers from 10 July 2012 No. 204 “On additional measures to regulate freight transportation by vehicles via Qamchiq pass” was published on the portal of the discussion of legal acts.
In line with the resolution, it is planned to ban transportation of freight with cargo vehicles and trucks with the exploitation term of 25 years or more – from 1 January 2017.
The Uzbek Government also plans introduce ban on transportation of cargo, exceeding the load on a single drive axle – 11.5 tonnes, total load on the tandem axle trailers, trucks, cars, trucks – 20 tonnes, respectively, in the triple-axis - 24 tonnes - from 1 July 2017.
The draft resolution said that these rules will not applied to vehicles, used to construction and repair of roads, as well as bulky and heavy freights, transported with special permission of the authorized bodies.
