Uzbekistan doubles cargo transportation in southern directions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan doubled the volume of transportation foreign trade cargoes in southern direction in last two years, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Rustam Azimov said at the first-ever United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference, which was held in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan).
He said that such growth was achieved in the result of providing through preferential tariffs by Iran and Turkmenistan.
Azimov noted that formation of favourable conditions is important conditions to ensure competitiveness of transit transport corridors.
First Vice-Premier of Uzbekistan underlined that providing preferential tariffs for transportation of cargo and their processing via sea ports significantly increase attractiveness of transportation routes.
Rustam Azimov said that the volume of transportation of foreign trade cargoes of Uzbekistan in southern direction rose over twice in last two years, thanks to presented through preferential tariffs by Iran and Turkmenistan.
