State Competition Committee opens case against NGMK

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Committee of Uzbekistan on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition opened a case against Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine (NGMK) for violation of antimonopoly requirements at organization of tenders.
The committee said that Vilammy LP of Great Britain applied to the State Competition Committee on violation of antimonopoly requirements at organization tenders by the NGMK on supply of piston pumping units.
According to the Committee, NGMK evaluation group disqualified Vilammy LP from participation on tender due to insignificant non-compliance to tender documentation requirements.
At the same time, NGMK evaluation group allowed to participate another company, which had significant deviations from tender requirements.
During investigation, it was revealed that NGMK violated the requirements of the legislation on competition. The committee issued an order to abolish tender results and announce new tenders.
The officials of NGMK were attracted to administrative responsibility.
