President: About 42 cars fall to 100 families in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 42 automobiles fell to 100 families in Uzbekistan, which rose by 1.5 times in last five years, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of 2015.
“In our country, we are focusing on reduction of social stratification. The income ratio of 10% of the richest population and 10% of the low income population - the so-called “decile coefficient” - is decreasing steadily, and in 2015 it was was 7.7 compared to 8.5 in 2010,” Islam Karimov said.
Islam Karimov said that Gini index, which is used to assess level of social stratification and security in the society, for Uzbekistan made up 0.280 in 2015 against 0.390 in 2000 and it is lower than other economically developed and developing countries of the world.
President Islam Karimov underlined that qualitative changes have taken place in the level and structure of availability of durable goods, most of which are now produced in Uzbekistan.
In particular, about 42 cars fell to 100 families, which rose by 1.5 times I last five years, computers – 47 with the growth of 3.9 times, air conditioners – 31 with the growth of 1.7 times, mobile handsets – 234 with the growth of 1.6 times.
