Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Dal Teknik Makina Ticaret ve Sanayi A.S. (Turkey) will implement a project on expansion of the capacities of the cement plant in Jizzakh region up to 1 million tonnes of Portland cement a year.
The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On additional measures on realization of investment project “Expanding cement plant in Jizzakh region” on 29 August 2015. The investment project is directed at expanding production capacities of the plant on production of Portland cement up to 1 million tonnes a year.
According to the resolution, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine and Dal Teknik Makina Ticaret ve Sanayi A.S. (Turkey) signed a contract on developing working documentation of technical part, supply and assembly of equipment, conducting construction-assembly and start-and-adjustment works on turn-key bases for US$29 million.
The resolution said that the contract underwent necessary expertise at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan.
The feasibility study of the investment project with the cost of US$35.7 million was approved and underwent necessary expertise. It envisages that the object will be commissioned into operation in September 2016.
The project will be financed due to resources of the Fund for reconstruction and development of Uzbekistan at the size of US$14 million, own resources of AGMK – US$9 million and loan of Ipoteka Bank – US$12.8 million.
Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK) launched a plant on production of Portland cement and white cement in Zafarabad district of Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan in the end of March 2014.
The capacity of the plant makes up 350,000 tonnes of white cement and 760,000 tonnes of Portland cement a year. About 70% of products will be exported.
The project with the cost of US$114.2 million was financed due to loans of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan for US$74.2 million and own resources of AGMK – US$40 million.
