New Tashkent-4 terminal to be launched by 2020

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) is planning to commission a new passenger terminal of Tashkent International Airport (Tashkent-4) by the end of 2019.
According to the press release of the company, new terminal will be constructed in cooperation with South Korea. Terminal will be the most modern in Central Asia. It is planned to commission it by the end of 2019.
Director-general of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari Valery Tyan said that President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov initiated the project and put clear terms for launch of new terminal.
Valery Tyan noted that Islam Karimov put a task that the terminal should meet the best standards of the world and should have perspective to remain so for 30-50 years. He noted that this is large scale project and over 10 bodies of Uzbekistan will be attracted to its implementation.
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) from 26 July to 2 August 2015 dispatched a team of experts for conducting the preliminary survey for development of the Feasibility study for construction of new international passenger terminal Tashkent-4.
It is expected that Uzbekistan and South Korea will sign a project arrangement in September 2015. Afterwards, the selection of executive company for development of project feasibility study will take place, following which the official launch of feasibility study will commence early next year.
Construction of a new passenger terminal will contribute to further development of cooperation between the two countries and to activities of joint ventures.
