Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 March, a meeting with the heads of the railway administrations of Azerbaijan and Georgia - Chairman of "Azerbaijan Railways" Javid Gurbanov and General Director of JSC "Georgian Railway" Mamuka Bakhtadze was held at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan.
During the meetings issues of efficient loading of regional transport and transit corridors, increasing the volume of Uzbek foreign trade cargo through the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia were discussed, the Uzbek ministry said.
The sides agreed to continue working together for the flexible tariff policy, creating a supporting environment to enhance the competitiveness and attractiveness of transport routes.
The parties also discussed the possibility of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation on the launch of a new "Baku-Tbilisi-Kars" railway and creating new transport corridors, connecting the region with the European, Middle East, South and South-East Asia countries.
