UNWTO Executive Council to hold session in Samarkand

The Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will hold its ninety-ninth session on 1-4 October 2014 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Officials of international tourism organizations, specialists of academic centers and institutions, experts from Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America will participate in the session.
At the session, the participants will discuss development of the tourism in the world, activities of the UNWTO and its financial situation, development of international cooperation, etc.
The participants will watch films and video reels on historic and cultural heritage, nature, tourism infrastructure of Uzbekistan and visit historic, scientific and cultural monument of Samarkand and Bukhara.
Uzbekistan joined to the World Tourism Organization in 1993. A regional office of the organization for the coordination of development of tourism on the Great Silk Road is located in Samarkand.
