Uzbekistan to keep gas production at 66 bn cubic meters of gas by 2021

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will keep production of natural gas at the size of 66 billion cubic meters of gas and 3.5 million tonnes of liquid hydrocarbons by 2021, chairperson of the board of national holding company Uzbeknegftegaz Shokir Fayzullaev said.
Fayzullaev said that the production level will be kept due to growth of raw reserves and it is planned to introduce energy saving technologies and produce fuel from alternative sources.
He said that the company should each year to increase raw reserves by 1.1-1.5 times each year to create reliable raw source.
Fayzullaev said that this growth can allow Uzbekistan to increase export of gas by 20% compared to 2013, when Uzbekistan exported about 13 billion cubic meters of gas.
According to the holding, concept of development of oil and gas industry in Uzbekistan in 2013-2020 envisages increasing reserves of hydrocarbons by 24.5% to 3.16 billion tonnes of conditional fuel. In particular, the reserves of the gas will grow by 488.5 billion cubic meters and liquid hydrocarbons – by 41.7 million tonnes.
