Kazakh envoy holds negotiations at MFERIT

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Boribay Jeksembin held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan (MFERIT) on 6 March 2014.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on actual issues of bilateral trade-economic cooperation, including limitation of import of the Uzbek automobiles to Kazakhstan due to new technical parameters, which were introduced from 1 January 2014.
In 2013, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan rose by 14% and reached US$3.2 billion. Currently, some 184 enterprises with Kazakh capital are working in Uzbekistan. Four companies accredited their offices in Uzbekistan.
The Government of Kazakhstan introduced changes and amendments to resolution “On approval of technical regulation “Requirements to safety of automobiles” on 25 December 2013. The document came into force from 1 January 2014 and Kazakh side did not officially notified the sides or hold preliminary consultation on the issue. Kazakhstan also did not provide adaptation period to meet new requirements for safety of automobiles.
At the same time, new regulation comes into force from 1 January 2015 for the member states of the Customs Union.
