Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan discuss situation with import of Uzbek cars

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held negotiations in Astana (Kazakhstan) on 12 February 2014 to discuss on access of the automobiles, produced in Uzbekistan, to market of Kazakhstan.
The delegation of Uzbekistan was led by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade (MFERIT) Akmal Kamalov and Kazakhstan – first vice minister of industry and new technologies of Albert Rau, the press service of the MFERIT of Uzbekistan said.
The sides considered introduction of limits on import of automobiles based on technical parameters, which were introduced by Kazakh side from 1 January 2014. The sides expressed opinion to search mutually beneficial ways on solving the issue and preserve mutual beneficial conditions in mutual trade.
The Government of Kazakhstan introduced changes to technical regulation “Requirements to security of automobile transport” on 25 December 2013. The technical regulation was introduced from 1 January 2014 without official notification or holding preliminary consultations, or providing adaptation period to new technical requirement for automobiles.
At the same time, new technical regulations will be introduced from 1 January 2015 to members of the Customs Union.
In the result of negotiations, the Kazakh side agreed to inform on results of considered issues, which were raised by the delegation of Uzbekistan.
