Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Spain hold talks

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo in Madrid on 5 November 2013.
The officials discussed current state and perspectives of intergovernmental relations and exchanged opinion on actual international issues, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The sides noted that the Uzbek-Spanish dialogue is based on trust, openness and mutual respect. The sides consider each other as priority partner. Currently, with the joint efforts the countries formed legal framework, which allow to gradually develop multilateral cooperation.
The ministers confirmed interest in close cooperation in fighting such threats and challenges to international security as terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, illegal weapons trade and other forms of organized crime.
The sides considered issues of increasing trade-economic cooperation. They expressed readiness to further support regular contacts between business circles of two states, exchange visits of the entrepreneurs, hold bilateral business forums, presentations of financial-technical potentials. It was underlined that implementation of joint projects and other projects are beneficial for both sides and will allow to increase export of high-technologic products to third countries.
At the meeting, the ministers considered issues of cultural-humanitarian cooperation, expanding relations among tourism organization, scientific-research institutions and educational establishments between two nations.
The Uzbek side handed over invitation to Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo to visit Uzbekistan, which was accepted by the Spanish official.
