Uzbek FM receives special envoy of UN chief

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and the Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Ján Kubiš on 29 October 2013.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that the sides considered actual issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN.
The sides exchanged opinion on several international and regional issues, including situation in Afghanistan. It was noted that the Uzbek side holds open and clear position, which was stated in the speech of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the session of the Council of the heads of states of the CIS in Minsk on 25 October 2013.
In his speech, Uzbek leader underlined that Uzbekistan, as neighboring state with Afghanistan, adheres to principle policy of non-interference to internal affairs of Afghanistan and organization of cooperation with Afghanistan on bilateral bases, providing assistance and support to that Government, which was elected by people of Afghanistan.
