Human right envoy of French Foreign Ministry visits Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador on human rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France Patrizianna Sparacino-Thiellay paid a visit to Uzbekistan on 23-25 October.
She participated at the international conference “Developing national system of human rights protection in condition of the country modernization: experience of Uzbekistan and international practice”, which was held in Tashkent on 24-25 October 2013. It was organized by the Uzbekistan Human Rights National Center in cooperation with large number of state bodies and organizations.
During her speech, Patrizianna Sparacino-Thiellay presented a role and place of French human rights institutes, including Rights Protectors and National Consultative Commission on human rights.
Within the visit Patrizianna Sparacino-Thiellay held meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan Human Rights National Center, Ombudsperson’s Office, Independent Institute on monitoring civil society forming, National Association of NGOs of Uzbekistan, international organizations, etc.
The sides expressed interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and France in human rights, the press service of the French Embassy in Tashkent said.
Didier Maus, former state advisor and honourable president of International Association of Constitutional rights, also participated at the conference on invitation of the Uzbekistan Human Rights National Center.
He presented interaction of national and European systems of human rights protection. Didier Maus met with the rector of the Academy of Public Management under the President of Uzbekistan Abdujabor Abduvahidov to discuss perspective of cooperation with National Administration School of France in improving skills of public circles.
