Uzbekistan launches new tourism train

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Temir Yollari in cooperation with Germany’s Lernidee Erlebnisreise GmbH launched a new tourism train Orient Silk Road Express.

The train left for its first tour on 16 September 2013. From 16 to 23 September, the train Orient Silk Road Express will visit Kamashi, Kitab, Bukhara, Urgench, Samarkand and return to Tashkent.

The train accepted tourists from Norway, Switzerland, France, Germany and the United States. Seventy tourists gathered together in Germany and arrived in Tashkent from Frankfurt. During the week, the tourists will visit Silk Road cities.

The train consists of six cars and one reserve. The cars were produced in Uzbekistan and have all facilities for convenient travel of the tourists.

All cars were designed in national style. The walls decorated with Uzbek miniatures and curtains from adras. The floor is covered with red carpets with national patterns. Each car has shower, toilet, TV, wardrobes and other necessary facilities.

President and Founder of Lernidee Erlebnisreise GmbH Hans Engberding said that it is planned to launch a new route from Almaty to Ashgabat via cities of Uzbekistan, Podrobno.uz reported.

Besides, it is planned to launch several projects in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia by 2015. New projects will cover maximum number of cities of Uzbekistan, including Karakalpakstan.

Another project is to launch a travel route Tashkent-Atyrau-Aktau-Astrakhan-Moscow. Soon, Georgia and Armenia can be included as well.
