Uzbek delegation attends UNWTO sessions

The twentieth session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization of the UN (UNWTO) and the 97th session of the Executive Council of the UNWTO takes place in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, and Livingstone, Zambia, on 24-29 August 2013.
Representatives of over 160 countries will participate in the work of these two events of the UNWTO.
A delegation of Uzbekistan led by deputy chairperson of Uzbektourism Anvar Temirkhodjaev are attended the events.
The General Assembly will elect the UNWTO General-Secretary for 2014-2017, issues related to international tourism, draft work programme and budget of the WTO for 2014-2015, election of new members of the UNWTO Executive Council, etc.
The UNWTO bodies will also present their reports. The session will also determine next venue for the 21st session of the UNWTO General Assembly.
At the end of the session, it is planned to consider resolution of the 20th session of the General Assembly. Uzbekistan nominated Samarkand to host the 99th session of the UNWTO Executive Council, so the presentation of economic and tourism potential of Uzbekistan will be presented.
