Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia’s LUKOIL is planning to produce up to 4 billion cubic meters of gas in Uzbekistan in 2013, the President of oil giant Vagit Alekperov said.
Speaking behind the scene of the Petersburg International Economic Forum, Vagit Alekperov said the company plans to produce 3.8-4 billion cubic meters of gas this year.
He said that the company will produce about 17-18 billion cubic meters of gas a year in Uzbekistan by 2020.
In interview to RT Vagit Alekperov said that LUKOIL is planning to supply gas to China.
He said that the Chinese buyers are not demanding to include coal to price formula for Uzbek gas. He said that the contract is signed and it is a long-term. It was signed between the Government of Uzbekistan and China, he added.
Vagit Alekperov said that LUKOIL currently does not export gas to China directly and the company works through Uzbekneftegaz. He said that the second gas supply route will ensure stability of supplies. LUKOIL President underlined that the price is determined by the Uzbek and Chinese sides.
Currently, LUKOIL implement three product-sharing agreements in Uzbekistan – Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad, Southern-Western Gissar and exploration of the Uzbek part of Aral. So far, LUKOIL produced over 15 billion cubic meters of gas in Uzbekistan.
