Russian firm to construct gold mine for AGMK

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Zapadno-Uralskiy Mashinostrointelniy Kontsern (Western Ural Machinery Concern, Russia) will construct gold mine in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan for Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK) in 2014, RIA Novosti reported quoting source in the Uzbek company.
Within the signed contract, the Russian company will carry out construction of mine Samarchuk of Kyzylalma field on turn-key bases. The sum of contract was not disclosed.
The project cost is US$74 million and it envisages construction of underground mine at Samarchuk area of Kyzylalma field. The capacity of new mine will be 200,000 tonnes of ore a year. The project will be implemented within two years.
The project will be financed due to own resources of AGMK for US$35 million, loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan – US$14.2 million and loans of the Uzbek banks – US$24.8 million.
