Chinese firms deliver first locomotive to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Consortium of Chinese companies CNTIC and CNR DLRC delivered the first of eleven cargo electric locomotives to Uzbekistan Temir Yollari state joint stock railway company.
Prime agency reported that the consortium delivered the first electric locomotive to Uzbekistan. It is expected that three more locomotives will be delivered in the second half of 2013.
CNTIC and CNR DLRC are planning to complete supply of electric locomotives by the end of 2014, the agency reported.
Uzbekistan Temir Yollari signed agreement on purchase of 11 electric locomotives with Chinese consortium CNTIC-CNR DLRC in December 2011.
Total sum of the project financing is US$44.39 million. Uzbekistan Temir Yollari will pay 5% from contract sum or US$2.22 million due to own resources.
Other part – 95% or US$42.17 million – will be paid due to resources of Chinese Eximbank, refinanced due to National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Relations.
