Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A final stage of contest “Tashabbus-2013” for the prize of the President of Uzbekistan, which is held annually among entrepreneurs, farmers and craftsmen, is taking place in Tashkent on 28-29 March 2013.
Uzbekistan pays great attention to development of small businesses. About 75.7% of employed population work in this sector. Share of small businesses in gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan grew from 30% in 2000 to 54.6% in 2012. Share of the sector in industry hit 22.2%.
The exports of Uzbekistan grew by 11.6% and share of small businesses in exports reached 15.8%.
Annual contest “Tashabbus-2013” for the prize of the President of Uzbekistan helps to develop small and private businesses. This year, some 7,000 entrepreneurs, farmers and craftsmen are participating at the contest.
The district, city and regional stages of the contest were held in March. The 41 winners reached the final stage of Tashabbus-2013.
The winners will be determined on three main nominations – the best entrepreneur of the year, the best farmer of the year and the best craftsman of the year. Also the winners will be determined on such directions as the most young entrepreneur of the year, the best woman entrepreneur of the year, the best innovative project, etc.
