The topical soiree dedicated to the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the largest Italian University of La Sapienza.
The representatives of the professor and teaching faculty at the university, post-graduates students and students of the colleges of political science, humanities and journalism, as well as several experts on Central Asia participated in the soiree, Jahon reported.
The Italian academic and expert circles were informed on the contemporary development of independent Uzbekistan, achievements accomplished in various areas of the country’s life, rich and glorious history of the Uzbek land, as well as cultural and scientific heritage of the Uzbek nation left by the great ancestors.
The professor of the humanities department at La Sapienza University L.Biagini has said that the social, political and economic reforms now underway in Uzbekistan bear their results.
"We see the present sustainable growth of the Uzbek economy, and the annual GDP growth of the country has been accounting for 7 percent for over the last years. The fact that the death penalty is abolished as of 2008 and the habeas corpus institute is being introduced witnesses about further consolidation of democratization of Uzbekistan", Professor Biagini said.
