Construction of combined-cycle power station starts in Tashkent region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- First stone of the foundation of new block of combined-cycle power station has been laid at Tashkent thermal power station.
On 23 March, Tashkent thermal power station, which is located in Qibray city near Tashkent city, hosted a solemn ceremony of the laying the first stone of new block of combined-cycle power station with the capacity of 370 megawatt.
Uzbekenergo state joint stock company is customer of the project with the cost of US$468 million.
The project is implemented by consortium of foreign firms, which includes the Czech company SYNECTA a.s.
The project will be implemented by two subsidiaries – Slovak firms SYNECTA a.s. Šaĺa and the Uzbek firm SYNECTA Central Asia a.s.
