Uzbek President approves programme on construction of individual houses
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Some 8,510 houses will be constructed in Uzbekistan in 2012 within the programme on construction of individual houses on standard projects in rural areas.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On programme on construction of individual habitations on standard projects in rural areas for 2012”.

The document said that Uzbekistan will construct 8,510 houses at 276 housing estates with total area of 1,371 hectares.

The programme said that largest number of houses will be constructed in Tashkent region (1,160 houses at 23 blocks), Samarkand region (900 houses at 19 blocks) and Kashkadarya region (870 houses at 22 blocks).

In line with the programme, some 770 houses will be constructed in Andijan region, 700 houses in Ferghana region, 680 houses in Surkhandarya region, 650 houses in Khorezm region, 630 houses in Bukhara region, 560 houses in Namangan region, 500 houses in Navoi region, 400 houses in Karakalpakstan, 370 houses in Jizzakh region and 320 houses in Syrdarya region.

As reported earlier, some 7,400 individual houses with the total area of 1.1 million square meters were constricted in 2011 and about 576 billion soums were invested, of which 63% of them were resources of centralized sources and own capital of Qishloq Qurilish Bank.

The Uzbek leader said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on 19 January 2012, Uzbekistan is planning to invest about US$2.2 billion to development of housing construction in rural areas by 2015.

The resolution said that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will issue the first tranche of loan for US$160 million to Uzbekistan within the agreement between Uzbekistan and ADB on multitranche financing facility for the government’s five year Housing for Integrated Rural Development Investment Program with total sum of US$500 million.
