Current account balance surplus of Uzbekistan makes up US$4.2bn in 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Current account balance surplus of Uzbekistan made up US$4.2 billion in 2010, the Uzbek President said on Friday at the session of the government.
Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan held the session on 21 January 2011 to discuss social-economic development in 2010 and important priorities of economic programme in 2011.
Speaking at the session, the Uzbek leader noted that the volume of exports grew by 10.8% in 2010 in environment of global financial-economic crisis.
Uzbek leader Islam Karimov said that Current account balance surplus of Uzbekistan grew 1.8 times to US$4.2 billion. He added that gold-currency reserves of the country also increased.
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$21.209 billion in 2009, or grew by 0.1% year-on-year. Current account balance surplus of Uzbekistan made up US$2.333 billion in 2009.
