KRX delegation visits Uzbekistan Stock Exchange

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Korea Exchange (KRX) visited Uzbekistan Stock Exchange “Tashkent” (UzSE) on 1-2 July 2010. The delegation included first deputy head of management strategy division of KRX Jung-ho Hwang and ICT specialists of the exchange.
UzSE has been cooperation with KRX for a long time. In March 2008, the sides inked memorandum of understanding in Seoul, Korea. The memorandum envisages cooperation in information technologies, education and other projects, including their financing, the press service of the Uzbek exchange said.
During the current visit, the sides considered issues of further developing cooperation between exchanges in various areas, including in re-equipment of electronic trade system of the UzSE. The Korean side offered its assistance on updating electronic trade systems of the UzSE.
The Korean partners offered trade system, which envisages secure holding trade processes in real time mode. The Korean side also offered training of the exchange employees.
Korean Exchange is one of the largest exchanges in the world on the volume of deals with securities. It enters to twenty largest exchanges on capitalization volume. The Korean side is member of Federation of Asian and Oceana Stock Exchanges. The similar project of KRX were implemented in Vietnam, Malaysia and other developing countries.
Jung-ho Hwang said: “For us, it is important to see UzSE as strategic partner. Level of Uzbekistan’s economy is increasing and further cooperation with UzSE is turning for us to actual issue.”
UzSE said it is interested in further developing cooperation with KRX and modernization of current trade system. Currently, UzSE is considering several ways of cooperation in this area, which will be directed to KRX for consideration.
