 SCO RATS chief meets British envoy Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Director of Executive Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure (RATS) Jenisbek Jumanbekov met the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UK in Uzbekistan Rupert Joy on 3 February 2010.
The meeting was organized on request of the Embassy of the UK in Uzbekistan and it was courtesy visit.
Jenisbek Jumanbekov briefed the British envoy on aims, tasks, structure of the SCO bodies, perspective directions, practical results of the SCO RATS activities in fighting terrorism, separatism and extremism.
Participants of the meeting paid a special attention to issues of financing of terrorism and exchanged opinion on situation in the Central Asian region, as well in Afghanistan.
Envoy expressed interest in exchange of information on international terrorism between the SCO RATS and the UK.
The sides agreed to further develop contacts. |
